Brotherhood August Cookout
On Friday, Aug. 8, the Beth Ahabah Brotherhood fired up the grills and cooked burgers and hot dogs for hungry congregants after the Erev Shabbat service! .

This was our second of two summer cookouts. Thank you so much to all our Brotherhood volunteers and staff who served the meat and vegan options, as well as coleslaw, potato salad, chips, snow cones, and other delicious picnic fare! First Friday dinners for our congregants will resume on Friday, Sept. 5.
Women of Beth Ahabah Honey Cake Baking

The Women of Beth Ahabah gathered in the Goldburg Auditorium and Kitchen on Tuesday, Aug. 5 to make honey cakes for Rosh Hashanah. Volunteers prepared the batter, baked, and packaged the cakes for our Religious School families to take home before the High Holy Days. Thank you so much to everyone who helped to create these delicious treats—our 5786 will be even sweeter because of you!
Young Family Rosh Hashanah Service and Reception

Rosh Hashanah is almost here, and Beth Ahabah is preparing to welcome the youngest members of our community—and their parents—to High Holy Day Family Services!
These services, which are geared toward kids between birth and five years old, include singing, movement, stories, and prayers in Beth Ahabah’s historic sanctuary. Everyone is welcome to attend the Rosh Hashanah Young Family Service at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
It will be followed by a reception with apples, honey, and snacks for a sweet New Year! Our Young Family Yom Kippur service will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2 and will feature an amazing opportunity to get an up-close look at the Torah.
There is no cost to attend the Young Family Services or Young Family Rosh Hashanah reception; however, tickets are required.
Please contact Sarah Roper at programs@bethahabah.org or call the synagogue office at (804) 358-6757 with questions or to register.
