Cub Scout Pack 437 and Troop 437
After starting Cub Scout Pack 437 in December 2022, Congregation Beth Ahabah is proud to announce the formation of Scouts BSA Troop 437!
The Cub Scout Pack, which is open to boys and girls from Kindergarten through fifth grade, is a family-based program that focuses on friendships, helpfulness, and always doing our best.
The troop welcomes boys in the sixth grade and up; if there is enough interest, the congregation would be happy to form a girls’ troop as well. Scouts BSA promotes community service, leadership, a love of the outdoors and camping, as well as general life skills.
Troop 437 will be attending its first summer camp at Camp T. Brady Saunders in July. Please contact Sarah Roper at programs@bethahabah.org or (804) 358-6757 if you have questions regarding either unit or are interested in joining.
All members of the community are welcome, regardless of synagogue affiliation.
BATTY Wrap-Up
Both of our Beth Ahabah Teens and Temple Youth (BATTY) groups finished their programming year with creativity and fun!
The 2nd – 7th graders enjoyed a Judaic-themed art project that combined collage, stencils, sequins, rhinestones, and paint on canvas board. They also had the opportunity to decorate rocks for the Hebrew Cemetery. Visitors to the cemetery will be able to lay the rocks on the gravestones of their loved ones there.
Meanwhile, the 8th – 12th graders had an awesome time at Kings Dominion for their final event of the year. (See photo at top)
We are already looking forward to next year’s BATTY programs! BATTY is open to children of Beth Ahabah members; please contact Sarah Roper at programs@bethahabah.org for more information.
Food Glorious Food Concert
On Thursday, June 5, the community gathered for a fun and delicious musical tribute to food!
Headlined by Cantor Sarah Beck-Berman and Music Director Natan Berenshteyn, the repertoire featured songs about coffee, pie, and other edible delights. Proceeds from the show were donated to the Cantor Goldman Music Fund in order to support future programming.
Thank you to all who attended and contributed!
