Seniors from Richmond's West End came together recently at Or Atid to discover the wonders of the James River's bald eagles.

Led by Captain Mike, the discussion centered on the bald eagles of Jefferson's Reach that are territorial to the area.

Each of the 11 pairs of eagles that habitate around the James River area has mated, but only four have produced offspring.

Captain Mike showed many stunning and close-up pictures of the eagles, some of which were featured in 'The Americas' documentary narrated by Tom Hanks on NBC.
