School Year Begins at Or Atid
The Kornblau Religious School at Congregation Or Atid started the new year recently with a morning of smiles, laughter and fun activities. As a school we met together and introduced the teachers, greeted each other in Hebrew, had Tefillah, and played a game of Rosh Hashanah jeopardy. Then students met with their teachers for a quick review of the high holidays.
If you are interested in religious school for your child, it's not too late to register. We offer small classes, interactive activities and a joyful environment. For more information, contact the Or Atid office at (804) 740-4747.

Gan Chesed Continues to Contribute to Season Total
As the summer season transitions to Fall, the Or Atid Gan Chesed Kindness Garden continues – as it has for years now – to add organic vegetables and herbs to the total donated to and distributed by the Jewish Community center’s Elmer Toth Food Pantry throughout the year. Most recently the garden contributed five and a half pounds of vegetables which were added to donations submitted by the JCC’s grocery store partners.

If you would like to help with the garden, please contact Sue Geller at: susanrgeller@gmail.com or 804-387-7643.
Sunday Sephardic Minyan of Jewish Prayer
Congregation Or Atid invites the entire community to come celebrate a Sephardic Prayer Minyan on Sunday, October 3 from 9 to 10 a.m.
COA continues to celebrate these minyans on the first Sunday of every month starting at 9 a.m.
If you’re drawn to heartfelt prayer and beautiful melodies, come share fellowship and learn alongside Jews from many backgrounds as we gather in sacred community.
These monthly gatherings feature an open and egalitarian environment, traditional Sephardic nusakh, as well as offering Tallits and siddurim available for the service – or you can bring your own tefillin.
Also, please consider making a donation to support Congregation Or Atid in creating more educational and open-to-the-community events for all to enjoy. For more information on making a donation, and to register for the minyan (for security purposes only) call the Or Atid office at (804) 740-4747.
