Our Religious School program will officially begin on Sunday, August 30. 

During the 2026-2027 school year, children will be learning about Torah stories, prayers, and Jewish music. Rabbi Ahuva guides a team of dedicated Religious School teachers in a nurturing Jewish environment.

Or Ami will hold their High Holy Day services at the Weinstein JCC.  As always, the services are open to the public with no tickets required.  

Children are welcome, but no babysitting will be provided.

Jordan Wax: Yiddish Song for a New Generation

Richmond Folk Music at Congregation Or Ami opens their fall schedule with Jordan Wax on Saturday, September 19 at 7:30.  

Jordan is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist based in New Mexico. Drawing on the rich legacy of Yiddish song and klezmer music, his performances honor the Ashkenazi musical heritage with a fresh, contemporary artistic voice. 

His acclaimed album,  The Heart Deciphers  (Taytsh), showcases original Yiddish songs that blend traditional influences with modern sensibilities. When he is not performing his beloved Yiddish songs, Jordan works with traditional New Mexico musicians as a member of the acclaimed New Mexican string band, Lone Piñon. 

Whether performing on accordion, fiddle, or voice, Jordan brings an artistic vision that connects past and present through song. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door.
