Religious School
Registration is open for Or Ami's Religious School, serving children ages 3-14.
Our Torah Tots program for preschoolers (ages 3-5) meets two Sundays each month from 9 - 10 a.m. and will be focused on Jewish ritual objects (think menorah, kippah, mezuzah, and so on) as well as Jewish holidays.
Our K-8 program meets most Sundays during the school year from 9 a.m. to noon. In the fall semester, the K-8 students will be focusing on social and emotional learning. They will be learning about Jewish teachings about various emotions, such as happiness (how do you create it), sadness (how do we mourn when needed and comfort others), anger (how do we manage anger constructively), and gratitude (how can we inspire and express gratitude in Jewish tradition).
In the spring semester, we will be learning about Jewish life-cycle events. Throughout the year, students in the K-8 program can choose a weekly elective class such as art, building, cooking, theater, nature, games, and more that build upon the main lesson of the day.

All grades will be learning Hebrew reading skills and prayers as well as celebrating Jewish holidays throughout the year.

Book Club
The Or Ami Book Club will be meeting at 7 p.m. on Sept. 8, discussing the book The Man Who Sold Air in the Holy Land by Omer Friedlander.
This book of short stories will "transport readers to the narrow limestone alleyways of Jerusalem, the desolate beauty of the Negev Desert, and the sprawling orange groves of Jaffa. Across the sharply drawn borders that divide them, Friedlander's characters, often outsiders or even outcasts, are haunted by the past, or by the promise of a future that they can see but often cannot reach." For meeting information, please email: bookclub@or-ami.com.
Jewish Meditation
Join us for a 1/2 hour of Jewish Meditation at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, immediately preceding services at 7:30 p.m. No prior meditation experience necessary.
