Kehillah is giving birth to the Jewish community in Church Hill, where there is currently no organized Jewish presence.
“Just as we created Jewish communities in Midlothian, Short Pump and even VA Pridefest, we knew that Church Hill needed a formal Jewish presence,” says Kehillah’s spiritual leader and co-founder, Rabbi Patrick Beaulier.
To make this possible, Kehillah has partnered with Second Arrow, a new and upcoming healing space integrating yoga and physical therapy, along with the warmth of coffee, tea and community. The six-month residency puts Kehillah north and south of the river, as part of its mission to serve the underserved.
“We’re thrilled to be working with our friends at Second Arrow. They want to heal the world – and so do we.” said Rabbi Patrick Beaulier.
Kehillah’s first Church Hill event will come after the Second Arrow grand opening at 2200 Carrington St. Kehillah will be hosting a Hebrew kirtan chant Shabbat morning gathering, followed by bagels (with vegan options) and torah learning for spiritual seekers. The following evening will host a Tu Bishvat Seder - a mystical and emotional eco-spiritual adventure.
Anyone interested is encouraged to join the Kehillah email list, which makes you a free member of the community and have access to event invites. Visit our website, kehillahrva.org/
