Kehillah recently gave birth to a Jewish community in Church Hill, where there had previously been no organized Jewish presence.
“Our Tu Bishvat Seder is poetic,” said Kehillah’s spiritual leader and co-founder, Rabbi Patrick Beaulier. “On a holiday where we celebrate the birthday of the trees, we celebrate the growth of this new, dynamic community.”
To make this possible, Kehillah partnered with Second Arrow, a new and emerging healing space integrating yoga and physical therapy alongside the warmth of coffee, tea, and community. The five-month residency places Kehillah both north and south of the river, as part of its mission to serve the underserved.
Kehillah is now gearing up for Purim, with plans for both an after-school family event and a post-event hangout for adults. Both events will be in Midlothian, and free to congregants and the public.
Anyone interested was encouraged to join the Kehillah email list, which made them a free member of the community and granted access to event invitations.
