Beth Ahabah Happenings

Religious School
Beth Ahabah's Religious School wrapped up the year with the second and third grade Hebrew Boot Camp Gesher.

Parents and students alike learned about the Jewish year and created a calendar with stickers to represent all of the Jewish holidays, including Shabbat. It was a great reminder that there are a LOT of Jewish holidays!

Families collected stickers from eleven different stations representing important events in the Jewish year; they knocked down blocks for Tisha B'Av, dipped apples into honey for Rosh Hashanah, shook a lulav and etrog at the Sukkot station, planted parsley for Tu Bishvat, and recited blessings over Chanukah candles.

Beth Ahabah Teens and Temple Youth

On Sunday, December 7th, 2nd - 7th graders gathered after Religious School to celebrate Chanukah.

They decorated donuts, made Chanukah cards for Jewish US soldiers stationed on military bases around the country and throughout the world through the Jewish Soldiers Project, played Chanukah Bingo and Chanukah Mad Libs, enjoyed Chanukah-themed crafts, and participated in very competitive games of dreidel!

Eleventh and twelfth graders had a Chanukah celebration of their own in December as well.

Together with Rabbi Nagel and youth group director Sarah Roper, the teens went out for a pizza dinner and then returned to Beth Ahabah for donut decorating and a round of Jewish trivia. See photos with the article

The group gets together each month for a treat at a local restaurant and an activity at Beth Ahabah; last month, they made Chanukah cards for the Jewish Soldiers Project and enjoyed boba drinks at Kung Fu Tea.
