Baseball Action

On Sunday, May 24, congregants gathered at the new CarMax Park stadium for some minor league baseball action! 

Although the Richmond Flying Squirrels ended the afternoon with a loss to the Binghampton Rumble Ponies, Beth Ahabah members, friends, and family enjoyed cheering on the home team.

Music of the Moon and Stars

Cantor Beck-Berman and Music Director Natan Berenshteyn have been enhancing religious services for more than a decade—but it’s always a special treat when they team up to entertain an audience! 

On Sunday, May 31 they filled Beth Ahabah’s Goldburg Auditorium with “Music of the Moon and Stars.” The concert included favorites such as “When You Wish Upon a Star,” “Music of the Night,” “Bella Notte,” and “That’s Amore.” The Cantor Fran Goldman Music Fund benefited from ticket sale proceeds.  

Maymont Park Visit

On Sunday, June 7, Beth Ahabah’s Young Adult Community Kibbitz (YACK) teamed up with Temple Beth El’s The Bridge for a nature and photography walk at Maymont Park. 

The event featured readings referencing Shabbat, nature, and reminders to stop and appreciate the beauty of the world around us.

Voices in Peace Choir

Founded in 2023, the Voices in Peace community choir is an inclusive interfaith group with singers from diverse backgrounds and faiths. 

Beth Ahabah hosted the choir for a performance the evening of Tuesday, June 16. Musical selections included songs celebrating love, unity, healing, and peace.

Looking Ahead

The congregation is looking forward to cookouts prepared and served by the Beth Ahabah Brotherhood in June and July. First Friday dinners for members and their guests will resume in September. 

Tot Shabbat activities are also suspended for the summer, but mark your calendars for their return on Saturday, October 24!

Young adult programming continues this summer with “The Art of Havdalah Workshop” at 6:30 pm July 11, roller skating on Monday, August 10 at 7:30 pm, and apple picking on Sunday, September 13.
