Or Ami Happenings

On September 12, 22 Or Amians and friends gathered over a potluck supper at Or Ami for a house meeting to get acquainted with RISC (Richmonders Involved in Strengthening Communities).

People shared their personal reflections and perspectives on the issues that RISC has been focusing on.  Several other meetings are scheduled for the year, culminating in the Nehemiah Action assembly in March, which will bring together members from different participating faith congregations across the Richmond metro area.  (Photo to be sent separately).

On October 10, Or Amians  joined together for a meal in the Sukkah.  We were under our newly donated bamboo roof, which was adorned by decorations made by our Religious School students.  Also new this year was a beautiful tapestry that hung on one of the walls.

A delectable dinner was enjoyed by 14 Or Ami members at Memi's Egyptian Kitchen restaurant on Sept. 9.

Lots of conversations, idea exchanges, and catching up on events in everyone's lives.  The food was so incredible that one person booked a table for a future event.  The flavors and spice combinations were perfect, and the owner/chef prepared all of the dishes.  As always, we learned about new venues to visit and upcoming RVA events.

Join us for 1/2 hour of Jewish Meditation beginning on Friday, Oct. 24, immediately preceding services at 7:30 p.m.  No prior meditation experience necessary.
