Making Jewish History Come to Life
Our 6th and 7th-graders time-traveled through Jewish History in Richmond!
These students are learning about Jewish American History as part of their curriculum. On Sunday, Oct. 19, they participated in the Jewish Richmond History tour, which took them on a whirlwind tour of historic locations and events through several hundred years of Jewish Richmond history. See photos with 6th and 7th graders - at top - Hebrew Burying Ground - and below - at the Capitol and Chimborozo Park.

Driving through Richmond they observed historic synagogues, cemeteries, and other buildings of Jewish interest. They stopped at several locations where Jewish history was made over the years. They heard stories of Jewish Richmonders from the past and brought these stories to life through dramatic readings of historic events.
