RJF Administrator Joice Burnette retires after 40+ years

During her 41+ years at Richmond Jewish Foundation, Joice Burnette never wanted to be recognized.

Well, as she recently began her well-deserved retirement, Joice was recognized by many community members, Foundation current and past board members and Federation professionals. All agreed she will be missed for her dedication over those many years. She literally was the Foundation.

Foundation Chairman Ron Felmus put it best at the recent Annual Meeting.

“I want to thank one person who never wants to be recognized—but tonight, she will just have to put up with it.  In 1985, President Reagan began his second term, The “Breakfast Club” was a hit, and Windows 1.0 was released.  Also, in 1985, Joice Burnette began her work with the Foundation.  For over 40 years, she has served the Foundation with dedication, excellence and joy.  Everyone who has worked with Joice knows just how lucky we have been to have had her steady support of the Foundation for all of these years.  I want to say thank you, and recognize her extraordinary career in the service of our community.”
