The Richmond Hadassah Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Initiative Committee met on August 25, to continue its important work encouraging voter participation in Virginia’s upcoming November 3 election.
Our committee is especially focused on helping educate the community about the Reproductive Freedom Constitutional Amendment 1 and the importance of making every voice heard at the ballot box.
We were excited to hear updates from each of our three dedicated teams and to learn about the progress they have already made!

Higher Education Team
Our Higher Education Team has created a comprehensive list of 23 contacts at colleges and universities throughout Virginia, including Hillel, Chabad, and Jewish fraternities and sororities. The team is also ready and willing to provide speakers to these groups upon request, helping to engage and inform students and young adults about the importance of voting.
Organizational Contacts Team
The Organizational Contacts Team has begun reaching out to Richmond-area synagogues and is preparing to expand its outreach to additional community organizations. Future contacts will include Temple Sisterhoods, the 5400 Club, Cedarfield, Avery Point, and others. By connecting with organizations throughout our community, we hope to share important information and encourage meaningful civic engagement.
Communications Team
Our Communications Team has already written articles for The Reflector and Hadassah Happenings. The team collaborated to develop a postcard that will include links to helpful voting information. These postcards will be distributed through synagogues and incorporated into our broader media and outreach efforts.
Together, these three teams are working to ensure that our community has access to information about the upcoming election and understands the importance of participating.
Written informational materials will also be made available to the organizations and groups we contact.

How You Can Help
We invite everyone in our community to get involved! Please share this information with your family, friends, neighbors, and community groups. Encourage others to learn about the issues, make a plan to vote, and help spread the word.
Whether you share a resource, connect us with an organization, invite a speaker, or simply start a conversation, every effort can make a difference. Working together, we can help ensure that our community is informed, engaged, and ready to make its voice heard.
Every voice matters, every vote counts, and together we can help make sure our community is informed and ready to participate on November 3!
