JFS Richmond celebrated the dedication and commitment of its staff on Dec. 5 during its annual holiday party, an evening that combined seasonal cheer with meaningful recognition.

While the event included festive food, drinks and friendly conversations, one of the biggest highlights of the evening was honoring employees who reached significant service milestones, acknowledging the years of hard work, loyalty and impact that help define the agency.

This year, JFS recognized staff members who had reached five, 10, and 15 years of service. Belinda Hensley, Elena Pittman and Gloria Morocho were celebrated for their five years of dedication.

“I love the fact that we can serve all types of people, all walks of life, all the variety of needs that are out there,” Hensley said. “Feeling like you make a tiny difference in people’s lives — it’s a great environment. For me, I’m in the office some days and in the field on other days. Every day is different.”

Melissa Hayes was recognized for ten years of service, marking a decade of consistent care.

Reaching an exceptional milestone of 15 years, Valeri Nazaruk was honored for his long-standing dedication, a testament to his unwavering commitment and impact on the organization.

“I like it here,” Nazaruk said. “I like my job. I like the people we are working here with. I’m very happy working with this company.”

While recognizing service milestones was a key event, the holiday gathering also offered staff a chance to step away from their daily routines and enjoy time together. Employees were greeted with a catered spread and festive drinks, setting the stage for a warm, relaxed atmosphere.

Adding a touch of seasonal fun, a few staff members joined in a friendly round of dreidel, honoring a cherished Hanukkah tradition, and enjoyed a photobooth that was complete with playful props.

The combination of recognition, connection and celebration made the gathering a meaningful moment for the entire organization. The event provided an opportunity to pause, reflect and look ahead with renewed energy, celebrating both the people and the values that make JFS a truly special place to work.
