A little bit of rain didn’t deter a crowd of approximately 100 people from attending the Walk for Israel held on Sunday, May 4.
Rabbi Sherry Grinsteiner of Congregation Or Atid led off the festivities with a salute to both Israel and the United States. (See photos above/below)
Rabbis Scott Nagel of Beth Ahabah, Yossel Kranz of Chabad and a representative from the Rudlin Torah Academy also participated in the event. The roughly mile-long walk went west along the north side of Monument Avenue before returning to Beth Ahabah.
After the walk, Micha Biton gave a moving account of his life, especially his description of how he and his family survived the October 7, 2023, attack on their kibbutz near Gaza.
Biton then joined in a duet with Cantor Sara Beck-Berman of Beth Ahabah in singing John Denver's Country Roads followed by Oseh Shalom and the Hatikvah.
