Mazel Tov to Amy Nisenson who will be honored with the Federation’s highest award – the Neil November Distinguished Community Service Award at Federation’s Joint Annual Meeting on June 3.
Amy is a long-time dedicated and passionate Jewish Community leader noted for her care and leadership.
A past president of the Federation and the former Chair of Women’s Philanthropy, she is widely recognized for her philanthropic work inside and outside the Jewish community throughout Richmond.
When Amy was honored in June 2024 at the JCFR Annual Meeting for leading the Federation during her tenure as President, long-time friend for 40 years, Jill Goldfine noted, “To see how beautifully you led us through challenges, so many of which were unforeseen, speaks so much to your leadership and your passion for our Jewish community here in Richmond, Israel and across the globe.”
Amy has received a number of past honors – a Richmond 2026 YWCA Outstanding Women in Volunteerism Award, a Humanitarian Award from the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities and a Sofie Stahl Memorial Award from Jewish Women International.
The award, named in honor of Neil November, recognizes those volunteer(s) in our community who have and continue to exhibit a lifetime of outstanding service, leadership, and achievement in our community.
