In late April thru early May, eight Richmonders spent time in Israel participating in three programs on behalf of our community and to celebrate Israel@75.

JCFR Board members Sam Revenson and Josh Goldberg along with JCFR Chief Impact Officer Sara Rosenbaum attended the Jewish Federations of North America’s General Assembly in Israel to network and learn with and from colleagues around the world.

Mark Sisisky was also a participant in his role as American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) International President.

Following the GA, Josh Goldberg and Sara Rosenbaum were joined by Melissa Krumbein and Cristina Ramirez, both members of the Federation’s Israel and Overseas Committee at the Southeast Consortium Partnership Steering Committee to help budget and plan for next year’s P2G programs with Hadera-Erion and the Southeast Consortium.

(RiGHT) Avi Calhoun with his Israeli L2G partner, Baruch Sadilov.

At the same time, two young leaders, Avi Calhoun and Troy Fuller, participated in the Leadership2Gether delegation program in Israel. L2G brings Americans and Israeli young leaders together for an 8-month-long learning opportunity via Zoom followed by a retreat opportunity, this year’s being held in Israel.

The retreat is a culmination of their L2G cohort where they met regularly for learning opportunities with an Israeli partner, to dive into deep conversations regarding diaspora-Israeli relations, what it means to be a Jewish leader, and how we can support both communities, and much more.

For more information on these or other P2G opportunities contact Sara Rosenbaum at the Federation at srosenbaum@jewishrichmond.org.
