Friendship Circle of Virginia will be hosting the 2nd Annual Disability Inclusion Day at the Diamond presented by fas mart© on Aug. 21st at 1:35 p.m. in Richmond.

Due to the success of our 2022 inaugural event, FCVA and the Richmond Flying Squirrels have decided to make this an annual event!

As part of this exciting event, Friendship Circle and fas mart© will be giving away 10,000 FREE tickets to the game via disability and mental health organizations throughout RVA! Get your FREE tickets at www.InclusionDayRVA.com.

Disability Inclusion Day at the Diamond is open to the entire RVA community!

The goal of Disability Inclusion Day at the Diamond is to highlight the importance of an inclusive community by bringing people together with and without disabilities in a highly public and iconic RVA way. The purpose of this event is to support and welcome everyone from the disability and mental health communities and their loved ones to one of Richmond’s biggest venues to enjoy America’s pastime and experience a baseball game together in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Unique highlights will include increased wheelchair accessible seating, a full sensory zone and quiet space, kids field activities, lower speaker volume, services for those who are deaf or blind, a free giveaway.

New for your year, the National Anthem will be sung by American Idol finalist, Shayy Winn who is from Richmond and has disabilities.

“Thanks so much for this day! We had a super time! We appreciate all of the work of the organization, its members, & volunteers who made this day so special,” said Prince George County Special Olympics.

A parent that attended our Inaugural event said “My son has always dreamed of going to a live baseball game but with Autism, Sensory conditions, ADD, and ADHD it has been difficult up until now. Thank you for doing this! It means the world to so many!”

Sara Rosenbaum from the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond agreed! “The Federation is excited to sponsor the second annual Inclusion Day at the Diamond. Last year was so wonderful and we look forward to seeing even more of the community. Thank you to Friendship Circle for helping us all build a welcoming and inclusive community.”

The Flying Squirrels have been wanting to create an event like this for many years, and found a partner in Friendship Circle.

“Inclusion is a very important part of the Flying Squirrels and we are looking forward to working with Friendship Circle to bring the inaugural Disability Inclusion Day to The Diamond on August 21st.”
