Shalom, Jewish food lovers!
Get set to once again enjoy Jewish food, music, and shopping at the fifteenth annual Richmond Jewish Food Festival.
As always, this family-friendly festival will be held on the Sunday-Monday of Martin Luther King, Jr., weekend, Jan. 15-16, at the Weinstein Jewish Community Center, 5403 Monument Ave.
This year’s event will be a hybrid: On Sunday you’ll purchase food in the tents, then sit down and savor your meal inside the JCC. There will be live music and vendors to enjoy.
On Monday, like last year, food will be available only by ordering online in advance, with pickup at the JCC, for you to “heat-and-eat” at home or work.
A variety of traditional Jewish and Israeli foods will be available, including a selection of vegetarian, vegan, and no-gluten dishes.
Our extensive and tasty baked goods will be back as well. All food is strictly kosher, and all ingredients are peanut- and dairy-free.
Sunday’s musical lineup includes festival favorites My Son, The Doctor and the Klezm’or’ami’m, playing their special brands of klezmer, Jewish, and Mediterranean music.
Alan Pollack will once again amaze listeners with music by Gershwin, and local band King Sababa will perform at the festival for the first time.
Many new and returning vendors will also be on hand, selling unique local and Israeli products.
On Sunday you can park easily on the north side of Monument Avenue, opposite the JCC, then catch the complimentary shuttle to the festival doors.
On Monday, you may park in the JCC parking lot and pick up your food indoors.
As always, admission, entertainment, and the parking shuttle are absolutely free!
