JCFR Grand Event to feature Fed Talks on Nov. 9

The Jewish Community Federation of Richmond’s 2022 Grand Event will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 5:30 p.m., at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture, 428 N. Arthur Ashe Blvd.
This year’s special evening will feature Fed Talks, a cocktail hour and dessert reception.

Event Chairs Nannette and Nathan Shor and Tatyana Manelis and Dmitriy Shapovalov cordially invite community members to attend the Federation’s premier annual event.

The three Fed Talk presenters are Rabbi Isaiah Rothstein, Rabbinic Scholar and Public Affairs Advisor, Jewish Federations of North America; Alina Spaulding, People Collector & Connector, Philanthropist, Real Estate Broker and Author; and Benji Lovitt,  Comedian, Educator & Writer.

Rabbi Rothstein is a founder of JFNA’s Initiative for Jewish Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI), the Jewish Youth Climate Movement and Kamochah. Prior to JFNA, he was Rabbi-in-residence at Hazon, Isabella Freedman, and Be’chol Lashon, and served as Rabbi for youth at Carmel Academy, Young Israel of Stamford and Camp Yavneh.

Alina Spaulding has done transformational philanthropic work in the areas of housing sustainability, Day Schools, Jewish Federations of North America, youth engagement, the arts, and trauma and mental health care. As a sought-after international speaker, Alina inspires her audience to dream beyond what they thought possible.

Benji Lovitt

 

Benji Lovitt’s  hilarious and satirical take on daily life and current events in Israel has made him one of the most popular and followed social commentators in the Jewish world today. Known for his “finger on the pulse” articles and social media updates, hei regularly writes and shares his distinctive insights about Israeli elections, pop culture, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and everything in between.

Following the 5:30 cocktail hour, the Fed Talks are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and the dessert reception at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $100 per person. A virtual option is available.
