Grahm Brightly-Goldstein helps us prepare for our off-site Hebrew education classes.

The Jewish New Year brings renewal to all and Congregation Brith Achim (CBA)  is no exception!

The year 5783 not only continues our ongoing live and Zoom simulcast services, our Jewish Community Federation of Richmond-sponsored children’s Shabbat services and the customary holidays, but also includes our new JCFR-sponsored “Novel Community-based Hebrew Education” effort.

Above: Several Sisterhood members gather, after a long day of silver polishing to prepare for the High Holy Days.

Early in the Jewish new year Congregation Brith Ahim will partner with businesses and government offices to offer Hebrew instruction at locations in Chester, Colonial Heights, Petersburg and other cities.  We will be offering instruction at sites such as restaurants, breweries and libraries to facilitate not only examining Hebrew alphabet, vocabulary and conversation, but also to “break bread” and network.

Other changes coming to CBA include guest singers and musicians at many services as well special services presented by organizations within CBA.  Our first musical guest is Lynn Lapidas singing at our High Holiday services.  The first anticipated special service is a service conducted by the CBA board that we expect to occur in October.
