The more than 160 participants gather at the end of the Walk N Roll.

Friendship Circle of Virginia hosted its 2nd Annual Walk N Roll, a free event for the entire community on Sunday, May 22!

Participants line up at the Walk N Roll starting line on May 22.

Over 160 participants joined together at Byrd Park despite the heat.  There were families and individuals walking and rolling in wheelchairs, scooters, unicycles, inline skates, you name it!

This was the first Friendship Circle event for many of the families who attended. The Walk N Roll provides a welcoming and friendly environment for new families, Teen Friends, and community members to learn about the organization and get involved.  This is how friendships are made and helps build an inclusive community, one friendship at a time.

Individuals of all abilities from the Richmond area enjoyed free Kona Ice (which was wonderful on such a hot day!), cotton candy, inflatables, temporary tattoos, pony rides, petting zoo, magician, juggler, and more!

The event sponsor was Fas Mart, with 12 additional sponsors including Abilene Motors, Walmart and Hurricane Fence.

Next up for the Friendship Circle is its long awaited “Inclusion Day at the Diamond” highlighting disability inclusion and mental health, which will be held on Sunday, Aug. 21. Save the date!
