Following the success of Hadassah Richmond’s Shockoe Bottom history walk, Arlene Wiener will lead another walking tour of the Jackson Ward murals.

The walk will be held on Sunday, June 12 starting at 9 a.m., at 205 E. Marshall Street- the site of the first mural by Aniekan (pictured above). The walk will conclude with a bite at either Perly’s or Stella’s Grocery.

On the walk, we will explore the diversity of one of city’s most vibrant neighborhoods.

Murals are on revitalized buildings and historic homes and depict the neighborhood’s rich history, as we trace its evolution from immigrant working-class neighborhood to the “Harlem of the South” and a modern community today. We will explore how art is telling the story of Jackson Ward.

The walk is open to anyone interested- women and men, and you do not need to be a Hadassah member.

Further details will be listed in Hadassah Happenings.
