Ronald “Ron” Bergman has joined the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond as director of finance.
A native of Long Island, Bergman has more than 30 years’ of diverse experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, benefits and human resource leadership positions with the private sector, municipal governments and in the nonprofit world.

30+ Years’ Experience
A native of Long Island, Bergman has more than 30 years’ of diverse experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, benefits and human resource leadership positions with the private sector, municipal governments and in the nonprofit world.
He has more than six years’ experience with three nonprofits – two in Richmond, CARITAS and the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Central Virginia – and with the largest reform Synagogue in St. Louis.
Experience at CARITAS, MS Society, Synagogue
At CARITAS, he served as finance and administrative manager, performing and supervising all accounting and human resource functions for the $3.9 million Richmond nonprofit.
At the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Central Virginia, he served as director of finance, directing all accounting and financial activities and worked with a number of volunteers at special events for the $1.2 million Richmond chapter.
In St. Louis, he worked with Congregation Shaare Emeth as director of accounting, providing comprehensive financial and human resource services. He also gained valuable experience working with endowments.
Ron also worked in the government sector, having extensive financial experience with the City of Richmond’s Department of Public Utilities as a senior accountant and with the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District as a senior accountant.
In both positions, he strengthened the department’s financial controls and their financial reporting.
Bergman is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a BBA in Finance.
