79,180 students

Over the last decade, the Virginia Holocaust Museum (VHM) has welcomed nearly a quarter of a million visitors, and provided free docent-led tours to almost eighty thousand students across Virginia, and the neighboring Mid-Atlantic States.

Next year, 2022, will mark the VHM’s twenty-fifth anniversary, and to commemorate this milestone, the Museum’s Board and Staff are finalizing architectural plans for a number of building projects, as part of our $2.5 million capital campaign.

This campaign, will not only focus on how we welcome visitors, host tour groups, and hold programs but will also make improvements to be more energy efficient (the first step was completed in September, with the installation of fifteen new HVAC units).

The VHM has been fortunate to grow, and expand our educational efforts, in order to be a resource for visitors, educators, and students alike. Once completed, the capital campaign projects will help the Museum operate not only for the next twenty-five years but beyond.

And in today’s atmosphere of political, cultural, ideological, and racial divisions, our mission of Holocaust education is more relevant than ever.
