The Friendship Circle of Virginia Inclusive Teen Leadership Board is made up of high school students with and without disabilities from across the Richmond area.

Together, they help build an inclusive community one friendship at a time by taking leadership roles at all Friendship Circle Birthday Circle and community events. In addition, every year each member creates an Ambassador Project that aims to further develop their knowledge and leadership skills in being an ambassador for inclusion and friendship throughout the community.

The Friendship Circle Inclusive Teen Leadership Board has spearheaded programs, fundraisers, and events for FCVA and make up an integral part of the organization.

New Teen Leadership Board Director

FCVA’s Teen Leadership Board has been directed by Hilary Hodes for the past 2 years. Hilary is now moving on to a position as an Inclusion Specialist and although we will miss her greatly, we wish her luck and success in her new position, and thank her for her leadership and commitment to our teens.

We would like to welcome our new Teen Leadership Board Director, Carolyn Marks O’Donnell, M.A.T., who has ten-years experience as a special educator, working with children K-12. Most recently, Carolyn worked as a teacher in the Integrated Services program at Glen Allen High School.

Board President, Maia Zasler, is most looking forward to further building upon the connections we’ve been able to foster this past year and a half while in isolation.
