5400 Club for September


The 5400 Club at the Weinstein JCC meets virtually on Mondays (except holidays) from 12:25-1:30 p.m. A Zoom meeting registration link will be emailed to members the Friday before each meeting. Sept. 6 – Labor Day: NO MEETING (Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown)

Sept. 13 – Lauren Leff, Northeastern University, “Fighting Prejudice and Absorbing Refugees from Nazism.”

Sept. 20 – Dr. Edward Halperin, Chancellor/CEO of New York Medical College, “We do not want him because he is a Jew” – The Montreal Interns’ Strike of 1934.

Sept. 27 – Special Violins of Hope program featuring Virginia Holocaust Museum Executive Director Samuel Asher and James A. Grymes, author of “Violins of Hope: Violins of the Holocaust- Instruments of Hope & Liberation in Mankind’s Darkest Hour.”
