Each year Beth Sholom awards educational scholarships to employees who aspire to advance or begin a career in nursing.
This year it was our pleasure to present three of our dedicated employees with this honor. We are delighted that they have chosen to continue their education and look forward to their continued growth through Beth Sholom.
The scholarships were announced during our Nurses Week picnic celebration in May. The 2021 recipients are Keyona Brooks, Kendra Hamilton and Iris Pompey.
The Mary Z. Kornblau Nursing
Keyona Brooks is currently a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and working toward her Registered Nursing (RN) degree. Ms. Brooks received The Mary Z. Kornblau Nursing Education Scholarship which was recently established for charitable and educational purposes for Beth Sholom Senior Living health care employees who wish to advance their career in nursing.
The Edith & Kenneth Frishtick Beth Sholom Professional Development Scholarship
Kendra Hamilton and Iris Pompey are recipients of The Edith & Kenneth Frishtick Beth Sholom Professional Development Scholarship, which was established for Beth Sholom employee professional development opportunities.
Kendra is currently the day receptionist at the Healthcare Center working toward her RN degree. Iris is currently a registered medication aide working toward her LPN degree.
