The Weinstein JCC Virtual Annual Meeting premiered on Thursday, May 13, to many members and supporters both locally and around the nation.
Streaming safely from each panelist’s home, the meeting began with a performance of “Hatikvah” and the National Anthem by Hanna Clinton, Deb Clinton, and Natan Berenshteyn followed by a meaningful invocation by Rabbi Scott Nagel from Congregation Beth Ahabah.
Former Weinstein JCC president Chris Greenberg delivered a touching tribute to past president and close friend, Earl Ferguson.
The evening’s business portion included the nomination and installation of new board members and officers by Sara Villalona, chairman of the Weinstein JCC Board of Directors.
Additional program components included Helen Horwitz receiving the President’s Award for her outstanding commitment to the sustainability of the Weinstein JCC. Outstanding youth volunteer, Alexandra Brownstein, received the Arenstein Family Excellence in Youth Service Award presented by Sarah Arenstein Levy. Shana Levy Passman received the Leroy B. Goldberg Leadership Award presented by Sara Villalona with a special message from her parents John and Judith Levy. Greg Bishop received the Esther, Edith & H.J. Bernstein Volunteer Leadership Award presented by Sara Villalona.
The Weinstein JCC is fortunate to have so many committed volunteer leaders in its ranks!
A highlight of the evening featured a curated video by board member, Jonathan McNamara, capturing the countless faces and ways that the Center was able to be present and serve the community during this past year.
