Kehillah is Virginia’s only independent, progressive Jewish community and is served by Rabbi Patrick Beaulier and Rebbetzin Stefanie Papps, along with an amazing group of staff and volunteers.

Our mission is to inspire people socially, spiritually and intellectually, no matter who you are, where you’re from or where you are going, because you matter.

For more information about how Kehillah can be part of your journey, go to https://kehillahrva.org.

Check out the events currently at Kehillah:

Shavuot Care Packages: The holiday where we celebrate the giving of the Ten Commandments, engage in all-night Jewish learning, commemorate the loss of those we love, and the best part . . . the custom of eating dairy desserts like cheesecake!

Your bag will include: a small, NY-style cheesecake, a Yahrtzeit Memorial Candle for a home Yizkor Service, a Celebrate Shavuot at Home Booklet (interfaith and family friendly) with inspirational learning materials to make your Shavuot evening learning meaningful and relevant, and coffee to power that all-night learning!

These care packages are free, but we do hope you’ll give a donation to support our ongoing efforts to keep people spiritually connected during social distance. To request a care package, go to https://kehillahrva.org/shavuot-care-packages. Signup ends May 9 and is limited to homes within 10 miles of Midlothian and Richmond.

Biweekly Shabbat Morning Prayer & Learning: Join Rabbi Patrick May 15 and 29 at 10 a.m. for easy-to-read prayers and discussion on weekly topics relevant to you. It’s Jewish life, in your life! No Jewish experience required . . . or preferred! To join the video meeting, go to https://whereby.com/kehillah.

Biweekly Virtual Happy Hour: We are opening our online Whereby room for a Virtual Happy Hour on May 4 and 18 at 7 p.m. This is an informal, just-for-fun gathering!

If interested, go to https://whereby.com/kehillah. To make the experience more enjoyable for participants, space is limited to 12 people at a time.

We are constantly adding new events to our calendar—stay updated by joining our email list at https://kehillahrva.org/free-membership, liking our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/kehillahrva, and following us on Instagram @kehillahrva.
