Connecting in New Ways: How being a part of the KBI Family helps us through crisis

Rabbi Dovid Asher of Keneseth Beth Israel knows that relationships and wellbeing go hand-in-hand.

As the pandemic canceled in-person get-togethers, Rabbi Asher launched Member Mondays to help his members stay connected. Each week, Rabbi Asher engages his congregation with a virtual interview of one or more of his congregants.

Rabbi Asher’s genuine love and care for his congregants shines as he peppers them with questions about their origins, their engagement in various Jewish communities and asks for each guest to reflect on different aspects of their lives.

Connecting in Creative Ways

Through sharing these interviews virtually, Rabbi Asher invites the community to learn more about their fellow KBI members.

“Connecting in creative ways as a congregational family is always important,” said Rabbi Asher, “but during this pandemic it is imperative to utilize technology and other means to learn about each other and ‘be’ with one another so that the feeling of aloneness that is so prevalent during this health crisis becomes a positive that we can all grow from.”

The interview videos have been very well received!
